LIVESCAN4ALL LS300 LIVESCAN FOR CRIMINAL BOOKING
Ideal vs Real World
Under controlled and perfect conditions with well trained operators, any scanner can perform well. However, ideal conditions have proven to be difficult to achieve and even more difficult to sustain. Operators are often minimally trained, computer challenged, multi-tasking during booking, or occassional users. Therefore, some of the primary concerns should be the software application's ease of use or "dummy/mistake proof", amount of necessary maintenance, overall durability and longevity, and "total cost of ownership".

Ease Of Use / "Dummy Proof"
Software applications should be designed from the operator's perspective; it
should be extremely intuitive and consistent in layout. By having an intuitive
Graphical User Interface (GUI), it will enable the LiveScan operators to be
efficient without extensive training or frequent usage. Software should also
have the ability to catch the operator's mistakes and correct them or prevent
them from happening in the first place. These requirements may sound simple or even fundamental;
however, it may be the biggest differentiator of Biometrics4ALL's LiveScans from
our competitors.
Amount Of Maintenance
Not all scanner hardware are created equal, some require more maintenance
than others. For example, a scanner surface can be made out of hardened glass
which is the most scratch resistant and no maintenance; while others are made
from composite materials, silicon padding, or coated surface. Scanner
may have a single flat surface (simple wipe to clean), while others may have
split or roller surface. All of these maintenance actions are relatively simple
on their own; however, when they become a regular event, they can easily
frustrate operators and increase costs; even worse, not performed resulting in
sub-quality images.
